Thanks for the tip to look for the folder - found it backed up on my computer, and easily put it back on the SD card. So as I'm typing, I'm making a fresh backup of the NAND so that I'll have it if something goes wrong.
I had just taken it off the SD card because I didn't want it popping up every time we booted the wii and curious children trying to see what different things did. I'll be glad to run that if someone will tell me where to find it. In several threads I've read, there was another app that gave a system status that showed all the IOS files and their versions/states. If updating, do I use pimp my wii, dop-mii, or something else? Where do I get those? I gather that it runs through homebrew channel, and I used to have a homebrew app for downloading programs, but it seems to have disappeared when I upgraded my homebrew channel. If upgrading to 4.3, where if the best latest guide? I noticed there's not one stickied for 4.3.ģ.
Pimp my wii 4.3u update#
Update to 4.3 and remod or just update files?Ģ. What was gained in 4.3 as far as functionality? Sorry for the rambling - woke up early this morning and can't seem to get my brain in high gear.
Pimp my wii 4.3u upgrade#
I'm pretty sure that when I upgraded to 4.2 I did a NAND backup, so that would have to mean that I have bootmii installed, right? Anyway, in reading about pimp my wii and a few other things this morning, I was wondering if it's easier to just use that or to upgrade to 4.3 and then remod. I saw when exiting homebrew channel that an option was "Launch Bootmii, which I selected only because I wasn't 100% positive that I had done it or not. When I updated the homebrew, I think I lost a number of things I had in there but honestly don't know if I added those things back after the last upgrade. I went in and updated both the Configurable USB loader and my homebrew channel. I've been reading a while this morning, and am wondering if it would be best to just update to 4.3U and then start softmodding again from scratch there, or to just update the files that are needed for these games and devices. For Christmas, I got Black Ops, and the kids got the UDraw and Pictionary to go with it. I have a soft-modded 4.2U, Thought I had bootmii, but not sure now (will explain).
I have been gone from the scene and this board for quite some time, and from reading the posts this morning, there are a number of new things that have happened in the duration.
